Wonderful settings, excellent location, a beautiful building. Enjoyed the delicious "Corto Maltese" cocktail at the fabulous bar.
The cost of the breakfast buffet at 110 euro per person a bit high to digest !

Great location of the hotel. Nice common areas and well cared for rooms // Great location. Nice public areas and rooms.
A couple of bad experiences with the staff that are not welcome in this type of accommodation. Not to be confused with what is reserved as "Views of Santa Maria del Giglio", I clarify: they are NOT views of the square with the church that gives it its name, but of the building opposite (which is under construction) in Campo del Traghetto. When asked if this is what we had really hired, one cannot answer with disdain "That is not a problem of the hotel". They tried to fix it later, but that reaction of an employee facing the public in a luxury hotel can NOT happen. There was also an error with a spa reservation, again an unforgivable error for a 5*GL hotel. // A couple of bad experiences with a hotel receptionist that cannot be allowedd in a hotel of this category. Note that when you book a room called "Views to Santa Maria del Giglio" you will have views to the building across Campo del Traghetto, which turns out to be under construction. When we asked wether that was what we had booked, the response cannot be "That is not a problem of the hotel" in disdain. It is true that they tried to fix it later by offering a suite (which we appreciated but refused to accept), but that response from a person who works facing the public at a luxury hotel is just unacceptable. There was also a mistake with a reservation at the hotel Spa, an unforgivable error for a 5*GL hotel.

Hotel is located in a nice quite location, just 5 minutes away from the Piazza S. Marco. A stunning historical building which has been maintained really well. As it was my mother's birthday, the staff at the reception has kindly upgraded the room to Junior suits which we've enjoyed through out our stay. The customer service on the arrival has exceeded the 5 star!! A little pricy, but definitely recommended to all that would like to spend a special time in Venice.

We liked the warmth of the welcome and the subsequent service. The hotel's website provided good alternative travel suggestions from Venice airport, though next time we will arrive by water taxi, perhaps sharing the cost with another couple. There is a mooring jetty at the front door of the Gritti. Breakfast on the terrace, looking onto the busy Grand Canal, was unforgettable. A most enjoyable short break.

Very poor response indeed to an incident which occurred in the hotel. Staff failed to deal adequately and professionally with the problem.

The Gritti Palace Hotel is a magnificent old palazzo right on the Grand Canal almost directly opposite the Salute. The Gritti has its own landing stage for water-taxis and a terrace on stilts over the water for al fresco eating and libating in a splendid atmosphere with a unique view. The room was spacious and comfortable. The internal decor is magnificent in the old Italian style. The staff were top-notch in every respect.
